Position Summary
The Safety & Compliance Inspector supports the safe construction, installation, opening, and ongoing operation of Slick City Action Parks nationwide. This role conducts inspections before, during, and after installation to ensure compliance with ASTM F24 standards, OSHA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and state/local regulations.
This field-based role partners closely with construction teams, franchisees, vendors, inspectors, and operations leaders to identify risks, document findings, and ensure parks are ready for safe guest operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of attractions, facilities, and operational areas to ensure compliance with ASTM, OSHA, manufacturer, and jurisdictional standards.
- Identify safety concerns, incomplete work, and compliance gaps; provide clear corrective recommendations.
- Support inspections through all project phases, including installation, pre-opening, and post-opening.
- Lead pre-opening readiness inspections, evaluating attractions, signage, safety systems, housekeeping, and guest environments.
- Maintain organized inspection reports, corrective action logs, certifications, and compliance documentation using platforms such as Monday.com and Microsoft Teams.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors, engineers, and regulatory agencies to support approvals and project completion.
- Support multiple new park openings annually, including extensive nationwide travel and on-site operational support.
- Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning when needed.
- Assess workplace and warehouse safety practices and recommend OSHA-aligned improvements.
- Stay informed on industry standards and regulations through organizations such as ASTM, AIMS International, IAAPA, and NAARSO.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience may substitute for degree requirements.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in amusement safety, construction inspections, compliance, workplace safety, or related industries.
- Experience with ASTM standards, OSHA regulations, and field inspections preferred.
- Multi-site construction or operational experience preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and project management platforms such as Monday.com.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments and travel extensively nationwide.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and navigate active construction and operational environments for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights and around construction activity.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to travel up to 75% nationwide.
Work Schedule
Full-time exempt position requiring scheduling flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and extended travel during active park openings.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $85,000-$95,000 based on experience and qualifications.
- This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus determined by company performance.
